Nine of Wands Upright Meaning
The Nine of Wands is the last stretch, met by someone who has already been through several. There is real weariness in this card, and real toughness: you have taken hits and you are still here, which is not nothing. When it appears, you are nearer the end than your exhaustion suggests, and the task is to keep going without pretending you are fine. What it costs is openness. Being knocked around teaches you to expect the next blow, and that watchfulness starts getting applied to people who have not earned it. Guarding everything is expensive. Rest if you can, finish if you can, and let one person help you — the suspicion is protective, but it is also lonely.
Nine of Wands Reversed Meaning
Reversed, the defences have gone past useful. Either you are running on empty and refusing to admit it, or you are so braced for trouble that you are creating some.
